Craft: Easy to Make Drum

What you need:

• - Cardboard oatmeal container with a lid
• - Construction paper or paper grocery bag
• - Decorations such as ribbon, stickers, jingle bells, markers, crayons or paints
• - Glue stick and/or tape

Steps:

1. Remove the oatmeal container’s lid and wrap the outside of the container with construction paper.
2. Secure the paper with the glue stick and/or tape. Put the lid back on.
3. Decorate the outside of the ‘drum’ with stickers, markers, pictures. Tie a ribbon around the drum and add jingle bells if you’d like.
4. Cut and glue a circle of paper to the top of the lid.
5. Your drum is ready to play! Tap the lid of the drum to create your own beat.
6. To explore different sounds, you can play the drum with the plastic lid on or off:Remove the lid and tap the bottom of the container with a pencil, stick or your fingertips.Replace the lid to see how the sound changes.
